Anyone who bases their evaluation of a president on the poll figures probably buy swamp land in Florida and answer emails from Nigeria.
Think back to 9/11 - would you have rather had whatsis name in the White House when the planes struck? When the second plane struck, my first thought was - We're being attacked. And truly, my second thought was - Thank God Gore is not the president.
Bush has not been perfect - but then again, if we are looking at perfection - Clinton? Please.
Most of the American people, unfortunately, know little of world events - and what little they know are fed them by a media interested more in promoting themselves and making headlines than telling an accurate story. Most are unabashedly pro Liberal, and the old concept of fair and unbiased reporting has gone the way of the dinosaur. I don't worry too much about polls - or put too much faith in them.
I remember an old photo of Harry Truman, the day he won the presidential election, holding a newspaper with the headline
Dewey wins!
The press was so sure Truman would lose - based on the polls, of course - they had printed the headline in advance of the results.
They were wrong.
Again.

Contrary to what a poster said earlier Congress in in the low 20% as per a Times poll in Dec 06. The liberals and the liberal media has literally waged a war against this president and blown way out of proportion the things he has done wrong and minimized or not even reported the many things he has done right.

I guess people like you need to have your feelings validated by being in the herd?
He's not the worst president, but you'd know that if you had any knowledge of US history.
You might be surprised at the fact that people are not impressed with Democrats - that was not the reason Dems won in 2006.
And still with the delusional conspiracy theories that Gore or Kerry won?
So, any sane, fact-oriented liberals out there? Or is that an oxymoron?

Well, I guess we'll be laughing at you in a couple of years wont we?! I assume you'll deny ever asking this question by then. Remember, according to history, Reagan was a "loser", Roosevelt was a "loser", Wilson was a "loser", and if I remember correctly, Truman was a BIG "loser".
Btw, these men are now considered to be four of the greatest presidents of all time.

Funny how your 30% is from a poll that no one ever takes. I did a poll four years ago asking "Who has ever taken a political poll" and found only 1% out of 300. If the Democrats happen to win in 08 the Republican will have it back in 2012.

Don't worry, the Democrats have 2 years to screw things up, I'm sure the Republicans will take either the presidency or the majority back in 2008.

Have you seen the Congress approval rating...it is around 34% so how does it feel to know your party is considered losers by 2/3 the country?

Remember that some of the people who disapprove of how he is handling Iraq are mad because there need to be MORE troops over there, not less troops. I wish the troop surge would have been 50,000 troops and they would commit to sealing off the borders.

They still love him.
He will get impeached along with Dick Cheney, and sent to the Hague - and they will still defend him.
All of the cherry picked evidence, fraud, and outright baldfaced lies will come to the surface, and the neo-cons will continue to swear that his (read: their) ideas would have worked if it hadn't been for the liberals. Remember - neocon ideologies CANNOT FAIL, they can only BE failed.
