I have read a lot of reviews and they are mostly conflicting. I'm not too fussed about staying in the city centre as long as it's not too far away. Nothing too expensive either as travelling on a budget

I went to Prague in Summer of 2005. It was a business trip so I was able to stay at the Marriott. I would suggest staying in the Old Town area, it might cost more, but worth the convenience. It is very medieval, but very beautiful and close to all the old sites. I am not sure what the atmosphere is like in Feb/March but it was packed in June. There is a lot of history, tons of churchs, good museums and good food. What a great city. Good luck.

Prague will not be so busy in Feb/March. It's actually a great time to visit, as prices are lower, too. Most things in Prague are easy to get to... the important thing to ask is how far they are from a metro stop. If you get to a metro and you can be anywhere in the city in a short amount of time (and it is safe). There's some decent (not fancy) ones near the Florence - Main bus station in the city. We stayed at one right by the Invalidovna metro station, but I can't remember the name.

Go to sta.com for information about student travel, hotels, hostels etc. if you are a student or person 26 years old or younger, you might also visit this website:
istc.org Another decent site for economical places to stay is hotels.com -- they have really great discount deals so you could get a nicer hotel room for a cheap price. (othersiew you're going to find Prague's hotel rooms kinda pricey)
