Well they say its bad b/c u will get arthiritus...but thats a myth. The popping is actually air between the cartalige and bones. And it is good to pop it after you wake up or when you are feeling stiff. You shouldn't do it a lot but just when you wake up, or right before you excersise, and if you sit or stand a lot. Then thats good.

It relieves the tension and stiffness in your joints and muscles. So it is not BAD for you...just don't do it alot.

if your bones crack naturally without you forcing them to crack, then the bones needed to be cracked so it's their natural way to relieve tension. When a bone is forcefully cracked by us and not by a chiropractor then it probably didn't need cracking which could result in overstretched muscles. But when you just turn and your hear popping that's the body's way of relieving it's tension.

The sound that you hear is actually just air escaping from the joint. As long as the joint cracks easily and you don't force it to crack then it is fine. Chiropractors are trained to "crack" backs as they know where the vertebraes are supposed to be and how our bones are supposed to be aligned. When you see the chiropractor he actually "adjusts" you versus "cracks" you.

I would never let anyone crack my neck, it can be very bad. If done improperly it can cause immediate stroke. Most chiropractors arent as skilled and educated as they think. If you dont want to take my word for it talk to your physician see what he/she thinks.
