good question! here's one way: put about 2 soup spoons of baking soda in the pot and add water. leave it for a couple of hours and then wash. that should do it.

try the Mr. Clean magic eraser. The commercial for it showed a woman using it on a coffee stained cup. Should work on teapots too if it is a tea stain and not a water stain. if it is a water stain then vinager or baking soda should work but NOT together as the will erupt.

Boil with some cream of tartar a couple TBS and the stain will disappear
Soak in clorox water too.

I would fill it with water and add a good splash of Milton Fluid. The stains will disappear before your eyes!

If you do not want to use bleach. you can put some salt in it and some ice and then shake it around and that should take the stains out.
