Many Indonesians and Banglas are invited to fill up in the shortages and work in KL. What is the reason for Africans who hang out in Bukit Bintang and Jalan Alor prancing around looking suspiciously? Why the police and immigration dont want to work hand in hand? It is obvious..

Generally there are few types of African...1) those came here to pursue their studies using student visa. 2) And when they are not studying they go moonlighting selling imitation goods. 3)those who are expert in black money scam (Nigerians).
Of course they are genuine ones who came to visit our country for businesses and travelling..
Well, i hope our police force have enough manpower to control all illegals regardless of race so as not to tarnish our country image especially this time where we are promoting Visit Malaysia Year!

I totally agree with Superman. I feel our Malaysian Custom Officers should be more strict on checking their passports/visa ..but the same goes to other foreigners as well, not only the Africans. Some of them are very nice people. We have more Indonesian, Bangladesh (the major ones), Vietnam, illegal visitors then the Africans. We should be worrying more about the Indonesians rather than the Africans.

That's quite a difficult question to answer because the answer seems so obvious but the reality is so different.

It would be easy for Immigration officers to go around checking their passports/visas etc because they look so different from the locals.

But that might be viewed as being discriminating or racist, which is not a view they want. Having spent nearly ten years in Malaysia (Sarawak) many of those Africans would approach me trying to sell me all sorts of counterfeit items such as perfume, leather wallets and jewelery etc and were quite meancing when one refused to buy them.

There are of course many thousands that travel to Malaysia to study and are nice people, it's such a shame that they are being tarred with the same brush as the con men.

well.
what i suggest is if we notice there's disturbing behavior of illegal ppl just report it to the police/immigresen.
have them check out their passport & stuff at their home.
this is easier rather do a random check in public places..

what we can do
- report to police/ immigresen if we suspected there's illegal african visitors
- dont buy their stuff even if we pitied them. if they found malaysian ppl not willing to spend i dont think they'll be staying here much longer.
