It seems that they're doing their best to keep people out of the USA.But I don't think isolation is a possible remedy. It's a shame it's so damn tough to come there.

As a 9/11 survivor, I feel I have to defend myself and my country in this discussion.

Bottom line is we have evil people that want the US wiped off the face of the earth and we are simply trying to protect ourselves since it is such a serious threat. The US may not be perfect in its attempts to protect our great country, but I know that we have the best of intentions!

I hope that one day you will be able to see the wonders of America. It is truly incredible!

Actually I've visited quite a few countries over the years. America is the easiest country to visit to or to move to. Try sneaking into some European country. My friend paid for a cross Continental trip and was denied entry into 2 different countries.

I think a lot of it has to do with fears of terrorism and also americans just getting tired of the anti-americanism shown throughout the rest of the world. Why get tourist visas to people that hate us and burn our flags? I can't wait until they make everyone have a visa to get back into the US, then americans won't go anywhere and canadians wont be able to get in as easily. That will keep us apart, which is best for now.

Speaking as a Canadian, it's not really difficult to get into the States, it's just that they now require a passport if you're flying in. They're trying to secure their borders after 9/11.
Of course the people who want to harm them will obviously have illegal passports and the legitimate tourists, such as you and I, will have legal passports, so it doesn't do much but I guess it makes them (Americans) feel better.
It's their country, they can do what they want.

It's easy to get into the US. Just take a trip to Mexico, somewhere really close to the US border and walk across into Texas or any of the other border states. When a police officer or border patrolman stops and asks you a question, simply reply, "No habla Ingles." Thanks to all the red tape, they'll be unable to do anything to you and you'll be welcome to leech off of our social security and live a very nice life until the day you die.

because too many tourists remain in the USA illegally... this includes tourists from Europe, Canada, Australia, Africa, Asia... and yes, believe it or not... Central and South America.

Blame the Islamic extremists who blew up the twin towers! That caused us to need much stricter security, because we SURE don't want another incident like it!

I think if making tourism a little more difficult will save even one American life from terrorists, so be it!

Coming legally isn't easy. Illegally is much easier.
