Your UTI medication shouldn't be affected by your period and your period shouldn't affect your UTI medication. Continue taking the medication so the UTI goes way. Your period and the bladder and urethra are in different areas they just "feel" like they're in the same place because your vulva is near the entrance to your cervical area, but, the infection is in your bladder/urethra area not in the area where you're having your period. Here's a good diagram of the female anatomy down there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fem_isa_2.gif
As a side note, when I get a UTI I also usually take cranberry pills and drink lots and lots of water. Doing so usually makes a really big and noticeable difference.

It should be ok. Whenever you have a series of medicine, you should take it how and when it is prescribed and finish it all. Then you might not have to continue taking it, you will be finished. Those medicines rob you of some good things too. Bladder problems are helped by getting a lot of cranberry juice and drink water and herbal teas. Flush it out. Do not worry about taking medicine while you are having a period, that is just another way of flushing out the bodies of women. Eat some yogurt or something with acidopholous in it.

Continue the medication regardless of getting your period. It will not effect your menstral cycle. You need the medicine to cure your UTI. It won't go away on it's own without it. Take all the medication until it's gone. Do not stop the medication just because your symptoms disappear. The medicine has to "kill" all the bad bacteria in your system that is causing the UTI.

Take the medication as prescribed by your doctor. Buy some cranberry pills at your local health food store and start taking them like it says on the bottle. There is something in cranberry that helps prevent bacteria from sticking to the lining of your bladder so it will prevent future bladder infections.

Please keep taking your medication until it is all gone or your doctor says to stop. If I were you I would put some Cranberry juice into your daily diet. Not the cocktail the real stuff.
Drink plenty of water to keep your body flushed out. Stay away from tight fitting jeans or anything that is real right and restricts air flow.
Know one likes bladder infections.....At one time I was told a untreated yeast infection works itself up into other parts of your body.

take the meds and drink lots of water. You may also want to go and get some cranberry pills, they will help your bladder heal and wont let the bacteria come back. Take 3 twice a day for about a month. You can get them at walgreens.
