What I mean is do you believe he will make it into office? I am african american and have peers and older people saying he would be good for the african american community but I am afraid that if he does go into office, then america will end up somewhere worse (in a vague sense) then it is now. Am I naive, insecure or foolish? And Please if you are a supremasist in anyway, please dont give me a biased answer.

its really hard to say whats going to happen, but i dont think he'll be the next president, only because there are other democrats who'll probably get the spot over him.

is he underqualified? - someone explain to me what GW did to become qualified. hes failed everything he's ever done, he gets mad all the time, says stupid things like "i'm the decider!" and is constantly scowling at anyone who disagrees with him.

ufortunately, qualifications dont usually matter in politics as much as they should.

would america be worse off? i dont see how. people talk about "the redistribution of wealth" and "big government", but right now the government is doing what it wants despite what the people want, and ALL government contracts go to just a few companies that the government officials are involved in, who have misused the money.

lets put it this way, WHOMEVER the next president is, we'll be better off. Obama, Hillary, McCain, Ronald McDonald, SpongeBob........ anyone could do a better job.

i just hope that the most qualified candidate is the one who gets elected, unlike the way things typically work.

From the time I first knew of him and heard him speak, I have thought he would make a great President. In the muddy world of politics, he is a breath of fresh air. He's the closest I've seen in a long, long time to being an honest person who genuinely cares about this country & wants to make a positive difference, not just a name for himself. Race has nothing to do with it, I'm caucasian & would vote for the best person, no matter what color they are. Anyone who chooses their candidates based on that is a fool. I very much hope he makes it into office, I think it would be good for ALL Americans.

like everyone else..i was amazed at how the media portrayed him as the next mlk...then i got his book and read it..i thought his views on america were wonderful, and right in line with my own...after reading the book, ..hes just another politician with a bunch of "the republicans did it" excuses....its too bad someone has to get the medias approval before they can be selected for office of any type...i think now that hes just another socialistic, power grubbing politician, like so many others...we should vote for the best person for this country, not because someone else says they are the right color combination, or the right political party...his policies ...the ones he has stated...are not what america needs at this time....too bad, he is a charismatic person...read his book...thats all i can say....

My opinion of Barack Obama is that he is just a media contrived "hope" for black America and America in general. Until recently he was never in the news. You never heard of anything he was doing in politics either good or bad. The Democrats are just looking for somebody to beat the Republicans in the presidential race, and they know they have nobody else except Hillary Clinton and Al Gore. And both of them would be bad for our country and could not get elected, and they know that. So they have "invented" their new candidate by putting him in the spotlight every chance they get to make him look good. They think he will get a large portion of the "black" vote simply because he is black.

well, im white, and i think its time for a change!!! not voting for a black president is showing the world how closed minded we really are. Atleast he has an agenda, took work toward, not like some presidents, that just make a move at the last moment. Maybe he will bring GOD back into the picture!

Barack Obama would not only be good for the African American community, he would be good for all American communities. I'm white, therefore my answer is not biased.

I am only interested in people that can make a difference and have proven that. I don't care what political group they are in, what color they are, what gender they are. Answer this: "What has Obama done?" Can you name three things? Are you ONLY looking for a person of color? If so, have you ever looked at Alan Keyes? Why is it so many black people won't consider him? Is it because the black people have been duped for so long by the Democrats that they will not consider ANY Republican? Even if that Republican is black? The BIGGEST thing that bothers me about Obama is he was raised a Muslim...for the most part, they hate us non-Muslims.

Barack Obama can speak for two hours and present 10 seconds of substance. He is quite the authoritative-sounding speaker though. He employs the same low, serious tone that Bill Moyers uses to substitute for his own lack of substance.

Read his books. Interesting stories, to be sure. They reveal someone with great affinity for Marxist ideals and a man willing to use his power to attain them. He is only the latest in a long line of Socialist politicians who need to cloak their true ideology in order to attain political success.

Thus far, he has been great at identifying problems and criticizing others' attempts to solve them, but he offers little in the way of alternative solutions. To do so would reveal his true socialist ideology and compromise his electability. The media will go to great lengths to conceal this.

No I dont think so, not because he is black. But because he is underqualified. People are ready for a black leader but he/she will need to posess the leadership quality and experience. Dont be discouraged, give him a few years and this republican will admint that he might be a good leader. Right now he would just be a democratic puppet.

I am black and against Ba rack! He is a socialist! This country was founded by libertarians who believed in small government, separation of powers, and individual freedom. Not big government, high taxes, huge inefficient entitlement programs and income redistribution.
