"Do Indians pay taxes?

All Indians are subject to federal income taxes. As sovereign entities, tribal governments have the power to levy taxes on reservation lands. Some tribes do and some don't. As a result, Indians and non-Indians may or may not pay sales taxes on goods and services purchased on the reservation depending on the tribe. However, whenever a member of an Indian tribe conducts business off the reservation, that person, like everyone else, pays both state and local taxes. State income taxes are not paid on reservation or trust lands."

Do Native Americans pay state or federal taxes?

They pay the same taxes as everyone else with the following exceptions: Native Americans employed on reservations do not pay state income taxes. American Indians living on trust land are free from local and state property taxes. Generally state sales taxes are not levied on Indian transactions made on reservations. Indians do not pay federal income taxes on money earned from trust lands, such as fees received for grazing rights and oil drilling."

In my opinion the Native Americans make so much money from our people and I have been told that they do not play their own people. It about time that some tribes should pay taxes to the State. The rule is the State of California pays so much for undocumented workers who send money home approximately 3 billion a year while the state of California pay the health care and benefits for undocumented workers. The State of California needs all the help she can get and she may have to help the Native tribes that have problem and it is humanitarian purpose if any of Casino Native leaders do not take care their own people. Thank you for asking this question.

I have no idea, but this is a good question! Looking forward to the answer. Some tribes get loads of cash from casinos. I know a guy that got $6000 a month from the casino just because he was a member of the tribe. It was bad for him, though. He didn't work and blew the money on booze.

As far as I know, no. They don't have the same laws. I know that gas and cigarettes are cheaper on reservations.
