Yes, it should be. Not in public, but I don't see the problem with somebody smoking in the privacy of their own home.
Alcohol seems much more dangerous to me, yet that is legal.

and to the question topic:
I am completly in favor of legalizing herb, one reason, its a herb. why can alcohol be legal and tobbaco be legal, yet marijuana is criminal, people smoke a joint and get a criminal record and someone has a drink and a cigarette and nobody looks twice, its totally arbitrary.
Bob says that he doesnt want his kid to go to a doctor who is stoned, well im confident saying that wouldnt happen if marijuana were legalized, does your kid go to a doctor whos drunk? and everyone who thinks that they would see people doing it in public, if they legalized it chances are they would make it illegal in public to consume it or be under the influence of marijuana.
If you could collect on every marijuana cigarette and ignore the transportation, marketing, and advertising costs, the estimate to be over $2 billion on Canadian sales, and substantially more from an export tax, and you forego the costs of enforcement and deploy your policing assets elsewhere.
Marijuana has no addicitve properties and in my opinion is a very safe substance that should be legal

I'm not pumped up on the idea but it would benefit certain groups in society.
I think it should be readily available for people who need it... like cancer patients for pain management...maybe even for anger management failures. Weed seems to have a mellowing affect on people so I'm for using it to calm angry folks down.
Maybe wars wouldn't be fought if they all got together and 'burnt one.'
I wonder if the government would make tonnes of money if it were legal or if it would create more problems... like more crime. It's an interesting notion to ponder.
If it were ever to be legalized it should have a legal age to use it just like alcohol...but I think it would be abused too... like booze.
It's just so damaging to the brain.
I'm not for it or against it... just gimme my sugar! Where's that cake pan? LOL!
Not sure if I really answered you.

HELL NO.
Weed reacts differently with different people and meds. I don't want to walk into an office with a doctor high, or leave my kid with people who get toasted on break time. Besides that the smell is ten times worse than tobacco and people don't realize how stupid they look when they smoke it. And add to the fact you couldn't protect idiots from smoking around their children. Get a life, if you wanna smoke it, do it like you are now hidden away from the world. No one wants to see that stuff.
and FYI, if it was legal the government would tax it and make money off of it. Beer is the same way as well as tobacco- tobacco is grown by independent farmers......you keep adding to the reason of why NOT to legalize the drug by your own words.
NO NO NO NO

Yes yes and yes.
Alcohol is legal - why not pot? Did you know that every accident in which pot is cited as a "cause", alcohol is ALSO present?? Alcohol does not alleviate suffering, as does medical pot. Hemp is an excellent source of fiber - clothing can be made out of it that will last four times as long as cotton, paper can be made of it and it will regrow within ONE YEAR, as opposed to forests, which take decades to regrow. MOre people die each year from smoking cigarettes than they do from smoking pot.
However, the pharmacuetical companies, the cotton industry, the paper industry, the oil industry and the loggging industry lobby's on Capitol Hill and keeps pot illegal....
Screw the GOVT.

There is nothing in the Constitution or Amendments, nor in the writings of the founding fathers, nor in the principles of liberty and freedom that are the foundation of this country, that justifies the action of the government to have criminalized it.
It was criminalized based on the lies of one do-gooder who had a crusade against it.
That's not good enough reason for government to have done what it did.

Yes, Yes, and Yes. In addition to the other good arguments that have already been made, economically speaking it would be great for our country. If people could grow rather than buy their own weed, they could spend their money on taxable items, and all that money wouldn't be going into the hands of Mexican drug lords.

Were you smoking while you wrote this, because your spelling is terrible.
No...it should not be legal.I've smoked more than my share of pot when I was young and stupid.I've also lived with a long time pot smoker who couldn't function on a daily basis without it.It does cause long term effects,I've been a witness to that first hand.
This question has been asked to death.
