I did an affidavit at a lawters office ,but with the para-legal who works there , she charged me $150.00 but really ended up costing me $250.00, cant go into details now , then she had me wait for some paper from Tallahhassee, ,the paper states this womwn is allowed to do work in Florida , it has other words I cant understand ,but the person who I did it in favour of ,tells me she took it to a lawyer and is not legal, so my question is 'how or where or whom do I contact to find out? I already contacted the office where I had it done and they told me I have to pay more money, as of now I feel Iam being taken for a ride, I do not trust this office there. Please send me some information that I can get without spending more money. thanks. Hugs.

Ambiguous, not clear, do not understand.. Are you a foreigner to the US.?? If you have any questions regarding immigration, go to the INS and ask them for advise. If you are inquiring about some other problem, that is not Federal Law, go to your local court and ask the Clerk of Court for some advice. Either one should be able to tell you what you need and suggest an attorney that can help..It sounds to me that someone is taking your money because you do not know any better...Not all people are to be trusted..Some people just try to line their pockets because they feel your are not going to complain..I hope that I am of some help..Excuse me .! The INS is the Immigration and Naturalization Service

If you have a legal secretary friend, ask her/him, if they can advise you.

If not, call the law school, of the university in your city, and ask if there is someone that can help you understand what what should be done with the affidavit.

If you are unemployed, you may qualify for Legal Aid (if so look them online or in the telephone directory.)
