The first thing to do would be to get a credit and/or debit card. If you have a checking and/or savings account, this should not be difficult unless you have had credit problems in the past. Everyone needs some form of credit, so this would be a good time to look into getting some. Remember, just because you have a credit or debit card, doesn't mean you have to use it. And if it's a debit card, remember to put ALL your transactions in your check book or you will have another kind of financial difficulty.

I understand your problem but there is no way you can get a contract mobile phone without a credit/debit card, If you have a current bank account you should be able to get a debit card, but it takes a week or so to come through. This is what I had to do when I got a mobile for myself and my daughter. It comes in handy for all sorts of other things aswell, I wouildn't be without mine now, I just have to remember not to go mad with it. Good luck.

A company I used to work for used to do it, but they may have changed now.

Most places want a credit/debit card as it is a fail-safe way of proving you are over 18 and checking your identity
