i know what you are going through. just last week my mouse ate my great dane. its tough, but your gerbil was probably just hungry, and he didn't understand the seriousness of what he was doing. that's what my mouse told me, anyway.

Well if your gerbil ate your cat, then you need to contact Guiness to claim world's largest gerbil. If your cat ate your gerbil it is simply the cat instinct, same if it was a mouse or any othe rodent.
