I honestly couldn't say. It involves a lot of science that goes way over my head. Brown makes it sound very realistic though. He's also very clear in the beginning of the book on which parts are actual historical fact and which parts are fiction. Definitely worth the read, anyway.

The science parts at the beginning & religious parts at the end are a bit far-fetched. But Brown pulls everything from fact - the research labs are there, including the biggest accelerator on the planet. But as to the grudge with the church? I doubt it.

Well, the whole papal election is clearly fictional, but the Bernini information was accurate, as was the use of Roman locations
