Laura Dern in Inland Empire was phenomenal, whether you like David Lynch movies or not. It's the kind of performance that doesn't have enough appeal for general audiences, but the cast was amazing.
If I had to pick an Oscar actress though, it would be Helen Mirren.

Well, I've only seen The Queen, so I suppose my pick is Mirren...she did do a great job. But noone wa a s fun to watch as Best supporting actress nominee:Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine.

The actress category is always a boring one for me...just because i mean come on...how many people have seen these movies? about 80% of the time its some actress no one cares about doing some awful english accent and just acting as stiff as can be.
anyway Mirren is a shoe in for this one
