(I'm not even STARTING to think about lawsuits by the ACLU...!)

What kind of crimes (federal, state, local) might you be charged with?

So many people have said vigilanteism, but that ain't necessarily so. It is every citizen's duty to uphold the law, and in most places if someone prevents a violent crime by making a citizens arrest, nobody objects. But, what if you really had super powers? And if you were more successful than the regular law encforcement community is? A lot more...?

if you ever become inclined toward that sort of thing, get them to pay you for it first I think, that way they would not charge with crimes

You would be one of the things that the law enforcement hates the most and that is a VIGILANTE. Just think, what would happen if everybody would punish the people they caught doing wrong. Law enforcement wouldn't have anything to do, and that is their biggest fear.

The law enforcement community would look for any and all reasons to arrest such a nutcase.

You'd be a vigilante and you'd probably be thrown in jail longer than the crooks you caught.
