Yes I could. It's a beautiful thing. The only problem is I am sure I would attract some odd glances and idiotic comments. Besides, I only carry a shotgun while I'm hunting or at the range. I sport stickers on my car supporting my right to own instead. That way I don't have to carry anything. :)
Anyone sees a gal in a Malibu with "I Love my AR-15, Support your right to own" stickers...that's me!

Yes, but it couldn't be loaded nor could I discharge the gun inside the city limits. It probably should be in a case of some sort also. But it is legal to own and carry a gun in the city.

Many of us do leave our doors unlocked, but not because everyone has ordnance. We're just "old school" when it comes to honesty and neighbors.

No, but then I live in Canada where owing a gun is not a constitutional right, it is considered a privilege and then only to those who pass a criminal check and firearms training.
I personally, having been the recipient of a bullet, am quite content with this way of doing things.
Not a judgement to my American cousins merely my opinion.
