I think corruption is rampant in the countries where it is widely accepted by the population.People think they will solve their problems more quickly if they bribe someone.

Yes of course.
People are over ambitious,corrupt.
People elect bad people with out proper analysis of the political candidates .
People are selfish and try to short circuit the rules.
People have no concern for fellow brethren.
People are illiterate.
People are lazy

Yes, I agree. India really screwed up when they declared their independence from Great Britian. They have lost their moral compass and sense of order and civility that only the British can restore to them. Ghandi was brilliant, unfortunately he vastly overestimated the general population.
