I was 28 when I started trying to have kids and that was considered old compared to others I knew. There is no experation date on eggs but there is an experation date on the female system holding the eggs. Menopause.
I think woman wait because either they want to find the right man or the right time in their lives. Maybe they dont feel like their husbands or themselves arent finacially ready for a child and want to give them all the things they can have in life and not depend on welfare. Some woman want to be a field of work for awhile to learn about life and themselves before they dive into caring for another life. Guess it depends on the woman. I know of a couple where the husband is 30 and the wife is 40. She just feels its time. They both work alot and make too much money but feel its next on the schedule.
I myself, needed to find a perfect man, a great house and financially stable before I could feel comfy with it. I am a stay at home mom and am not on welfare to do so. Like I said, Depends on the woman. Great question!

I'm 22 and can barley take care of myself let alone a baby. I am waiting untill I am at least 28 to start having kids. I do realize that by waiting I have more chances of complications but being in college and working full time I don't have the time or money that is needed to have children. Also I just got out of a very bad relationship that lasted 7 years and I would not have ever had children with that man.

I don't think that women or at least all women purposely wait for a certain age to hit before they have kids. I think it's more like they are just living their life and they don't happen to fall in love, get married and have babies till later.
Life is what happens when you're busy making plans. Life happens, and somethings cannot be forced or even if they are planned they don't work out that way.
I am 30 and I wish I already had kids, but it didn't happen that way for me.
I just got married, I didn't want kids just for selfish reasons, so hopefully I will have healthy kids now.

Well, certainly all women dont. Many women have children young. I'm more interested in why some women have children at 18 or so. But anyway, the older ones might have waited until they met Mr. Right, maybe they had more interest in their careers at a younger stage, maybe waited til they were emotionally or financially capable of raising children properly.

You really think they are "waiting"until their eggs are old?
Do you think maybe they have been trying for years and were unable to conceive. Or they waited until they were responsible enough or financially secure to give a child a better life?
I never heard of someone intentionally waiting for their eggs to get old.
According to my OB, regardless of age, if you make it through your 1st trimester, you have a 99% chance of a healthy child. Mother nature eliminates 99% of abnormal pregnancies prior to that.
(fyi Vicky D .....Women are born with ALL their eggs. We do not produce any new ones. One is released each month. But it has been in the ovary since birth.)

Women don't always purposely wait. Sometimes they haven't found the right person.
Today, more women are getting an education and establishing careers so they can better provide for their families. Also, the average age at which women marry has increased dramatically.

Is there a difference between the kind of babies old or young eggs make? Maybe some people want to do something else with their lives when they are young except contribute to the planet's overpopulation problem.

They are other priorities in life. Getting established. Finishing your education. Finding a life partner to help you raise a child.
You need to build a healthy foundation before bringing a child into this world.
Sometimes, it takes a while before some women are emotionally and financially secure enough to bring children into this world.

They want to fulfill their dreams of a successful career or other life goals before they commit themselves to children, I guess. Maybe it's a change of mind to have kids late in life. I don't know. I'm not one of them, but women are waiting longer to start a family.

What do you consider old? Women are having babies into their 40s these days. Maybe they are only then financially able support a child, or they are at a point in their careers where it is a feasible idea.
