It all depends on what kind of coverage you want. Dream Matte gives a sheer matte finish but won't cover up blemishes and provide adequate protection from the sun. It's more suitable to be worn at night instead of during the day if you spend a lot of time outdoors.
If you want a foundation that won't clog your pores, go for an oil-free foundation that also provides sunscreen. Try Revlon Activ SPF25.
The ingredients in foundation may cause spots for some people. If you get spots after you start using a particular product, stop using it immediately and get some treatment. Avoid products containing the same ingredients in the future.

If you are looking for a foundation that will not clog your pores try Affordable Mineral Makeup. I have tried a few other mineral makeups, but they either contains small amounts of preservatives or are made up with a lot of fillers.
It brings out your natural beauty while minimizing any flaws or wrinkles. It is multi-purpose and very versatile. Affordable Mineral Makeup is micro-formulated using the highest quality minerals and botanicals; being naturally preservative and irritant-free it is also weightless and incredibly long-wearing. It does not clog pores and it has a naturally high SPF. It helps to calm and soothe irritated skin with its zinc content, and is water resistant. Providing excellent coverage.
No longer do you have to have the 'goopy' feeling or 'melting' feeling especially when it's hotter than hot, try Affordable Mineral Makeup and enjoy the glow and have fun with your makeup!
Affordable Mineral Makeup enables you to feel free, experience natural beauty and is good for you.
Benefits of Affordable Mineral Makeup itself:

Foundation give you spots? As in acne? Some can and others won't. I will depend on your skin. Dream Matte clogged my pores.
I personally Like Bare Escentuals. Easy to use and never had a problem with breakouts.

I use Bobbi Brown foundation. But its quite costly, so I prefer to ensure I have good skin, by using Clinique 3-steps.
So you can use foundation on occasions rather than every day, as you can get caught up in a catch 22 by getting spots from over using poor quality foundation, then needing to use foundation to then cover it up the spots!!!
So my advice is have a good cleaning daily routine and purchase a good quality foundation for special days out, or occasions.

Max factor foundations are always a good bet. Foundation will not give you spots unless you go to bed without removing it. Wearing foundation during the day will act as a barrier, protecting your skin from the weather - especially if you pick one with an SPF in it.

I done a beauty course and they said never ever ever wear matte foundation. I have prescriptives and as well as cover blemishes etc it is nourishing for your skin! They choose a colour to go with the tone of your skin, I am blue/red and then they choose a shade of the blue/red selection. I find it great as it looks as natural as possible. They even have eye shadows etc to go with your skin tone. So I think you should try prescriptives! :o)

i dont use the stuff i found it annoying to find a nice match for my skin tone so i use collection 2000 they have a perfect match for my skin tone, foundation only can cause spots if u dont wash it off at night, causing ur skin to clog. i cleanse, tone and moisturise twice aday, leaving skin clear to breathe. try to buy a foundation that isnt heavy, and will let ur skin breathe and then u wont get spots.

I don't like dream matte mouse foundation at all, it leaves my skin dry. I like using No7 stay perfect foundation (RRP £11.50) and pore-less foundation by Ipsa (made in japan)
I hope this helps!

studio fix fluid with fix powder on top from MAC. sebum from oily skin and bacteria causes spots. it doesnt mean u have bad hygiene we all have bacteria living on our skin but in oily skin the sebum can pool and clog pores which causes bacteria to multiply. cleanse reg and use an oil control lotion before applying foundation. in teenage years its just hormones try a touch of vodka to dry out the spot.
