Yes. Every day. I know that God exists because I am still alive today. I was born even though at 8 1/2 months pregnant my mom was in a car accident that should have killed both of us. My mom prays every day for her family and friends and everyone. I am still alive after being diagnosed with diabetes with a blood sugar of 940 and having many complications with it. I am still alive after a car accident almost a year ago that should have killed me. My son was born healthy even though he was really early and I have diabetes which usually complicates births in children born early. I believe that God does answer prayers. It might not happen when we think it should and it might not happen the way we think it should, but prayers do get answered!

I used to pray whole heartedly and unselfishly with absolute faith getting zero results. Then, I started praying for nutty stuff like "I want to win the lottery or I want to be 8 feet tall" with zero results. Overtime, I realized that God does not answer prayers. I do. If I want something and I do what it takes to make it happen, I get it. If I pray and pray even with faith hoping the answer will fall out of the sky - no results. I could never understand why as a good, unselfish and faithful person, why God never once helped me when I needed it the most or when I prayed for someone else who needed it terribly. That was when I became agnostic. A huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders then. There very well may be a higher power out there - who knows. - I'm sure it's nothing like what's written in any religion. One thing I know for sure is that nobody has all the answers and any religion or ancient text claiming so is grasping at straws.

Do I pray to God? Yes I do. Am I a believer? Yes I am. Why? Because I have faith.
Now that that's answered, let me tell you what I believe.
I believe God is real and that he answers the prayers of the faithful. I'm not a believer because someone told me I should be, but because I choose to be one. I also believe that God gave us free will to be able to fix our own problems and that prayer without effort is useless. In other words, I don't believe you can pray for your marriage to work and expect results from the prayer alone. If you're a drunk and abusive spouse and you pray for your marriage to work but don't try to change yourself, then your prayer wasn't worth the breath it took to make it.
In a nutshell, prayer to whatever god you call your own is fine and in my opinion can't cause any harm. However, prayer without effort is useless and in my opinion, blasphemy.
Pray, try, work, succeed. In whatever order you need.

I pray to God for my family, to help my husband come closer to seeing what faith is, I believe in Hope and I pray for the health of my children and the spine of my husband. I do not pray for myself or for any gain. I am not selfish in prayer.
Have I seen results? Read through my questions and determine yourself.
I pray for my husband and yet he still sees through his tainted eyes of lust, he still breaks his spine because of he can't resist the tempation of an altered state of being, and yet when my body aches in physical pain b/c I can't change my marriage, I look to my 3 girls and I see a 10 year old honor student doing college math, I see a 6 year old future LPGA golf girl, and I see a 2 year old counting to 30 her sisters, all of whom have had very little sickness and never s starving day, and for that, I am thankful.

Yes I pray to God. And have seen results. Just believe in Him and believe that God gave us His Son, the Son of God, to forgive us for our sins on the cross. Trust in Him because He does all things for good. And hopefully, eventually all people will understand the power and satisfaction of intimately knowing the Lord our Savior.

I am a single mother with a 16-year-old son. I regularly pray and ask God to help me deal with not only his "teenager-ishness" but also to help me be able to make ends meet and be able to meet all of his material/emotional needs. I've seen results because his belly is full, he has clothes on his back and all the bills are paid!

Yes.I pray for my family, my husband and his family and all my friends. I have had good things happen in my life (like meeting my husband when I did not believe in love anymore) and I attribute that to prayer (talking to god on a regular basis) and having faith that he will help me when I am in need.
