Do Blacks really commit more crimes???

okay here me out first. i was reading a comment left by a member that said that blacks commit 90% of all crimes so i had to check it out. what i found was that it has been reported that we supposedly do commit 90% of interracial crime. but that in fact is not completely true. for those of you who don't live in the "ghetto" or lower-class neighborhoods please takae a trip there. don't worry you won't have to stay long if your scared. but seriously, look at who owns the stores, gas sations, the really nice homes (or the better homes in the area) and the nice cars that blacks steal. the answer whites do. its not that they are purposely targeted to have a crime commited against them it is that what the black criminal is trying to obtain just so happens to be owned by the white man. how many black owned businesses do you see in the hood. once we become a little established we move because we relize that we will not acheive a high level of success of we stay in the hood.

i would just like to add that i am a success story myself and live very well in merrillville, indiana. i am posting this question in light to the article that i have read. i have been in the hood and decide i wanted better and now i have it. if you would actually read what i have written then you would know that. thank you to all however for your comments. the are very insight full and i appreciate that from the bottom of my heart.

"commit 90% of interracial crime." Let's assume you have a sample of one black person and 9 white people. Let's say the black person commits a crime against another person. By definition, this will be an "interracial" crime since the victim is of another race. Let's say a white person randomly commits a crime against another person. They have 1/9 chance of committing an "interracial" crime. I don't know how true that statement is, but I do know math.

To answer your first question, I don't think so. People of all races and socioeconomic status are criminals, the poorer ones get caught more and may have to do more given their environment.

I saw genuine figures for rapes committed in the UK and that quite specifically stated that 80% of rapes in the UK were committed by black (Afro-Caribbean) men, 10% Asian and 10% white.
Now this would make you think that a black man was more likely to commit the crime. It could have just meant that in a 100 cases, 80% of rapes were committed by the 'same' black man and the 10% of white/Asian cases could have been 'one off' individuals.
In that case, although the statistics show more rapes it does not show that more white or Asian rapists existed.
Figures don't mean that much, they can be manipulated by whoever. To be honest, crime ridden estates can be just as likely be white ghetto's as black ghetto's.

Also, just because someone is poor, does not mean they have no principals or values. I take people as I find them as there are scumbags and nice people in all races and creeds.

To get on in life though it certainly helps to get out of the ghetto's and into a better class of area. The stigma will always be there if you don't. Some people will make a success out of their lives wherever they are from and I think more people need that attitude. Don't let prejudices of any kind hold you back, get out there and make life work for you.

I heard a statistic that blacks make up %13 of the population, but commit 50% of all crime. That's just what I HEARD, I'm not being racist here.

I agree with another member who wrote that poverty affects crime rate. It's a fact that blacks tend to be poorer as a whole, therefore the poverty is causing the crime, not the race.

I wholeheartedly believe that if blacks and whites were in reversed situations (on a nationwide level) that the crime statistics would reverse, meaning whites would be the 13% but would commit 50% of the crime.

I hope that makes sense.

For some reason, blacks do have a much higher rate of committing crimes than whites. I don't know why.

The question you should be asking is why do so many blacks in the hood commit crimes? Being poor is not an excuse to commit crime. It should be a motivation to better themselves and bring themselves up. Anyone who wants to rise and be better, the opportunities are there, they just have to find them. You can't wait for opportunities to find you, because usually they don't.

The group that makes up these poorer neighborhoods are black. Poor people in this country tend to make up for a lot of crime in this country. Rich people steal also, but its never really reported on the same level. CEO's that commit extortion and other crimes, but will receive a less prison sentence as some poor guy who stole a loaf of bread from a grocery store.

Another reason that statistics may be that way is because police officer tend to patrol poorer areas of the city more. They'll actually get out of a car and check out someone in a poor neighborhood and find drugs on them. I grew up in a middle class area of town and cops never really came through. But when they did, they never came out of the vehicle. Middle class people sale drugs too, its just their never stopped and questioned unless they look suspicious. According to the cops all poor people look suspicious.

Im sorry but you need to quit the poor us black people bull.The only blacks who owns nice homes,cars,stores or ANYTHING nice is the ones who thinks more possitive and gets off of their butts and works hard for it just like some of the whites do.I know succesful black people.It`s funny how they can be a major success and their relatives sit around just like you are whining about how the whites has it all and the blacks dont.It takes a strong black person to go anywhere in life just like it takes a strong white person to go anywhere in life.Im not raciest and I appluad the blacks that has became succeful but I really can not stand the blacks that cry the white man has it all.I dont fear the ghetto,projects or anything you want to call it.I grew up in a all black neighborhood.What`s there to fear? In large cities blacks do commit more crimes then any other race.The reason for that is in most large cities the blacks out number any race.So if there is 26 thousand blacks in a city,11 thousand whites in the same city and the rest of the city is made up of lets say 5 thousand of other races then yeah it will show that blacks commit more crime.Get for real,be a strong black woman and get yourself out of the ghetto.Be someone proud and have other blacks look up to you so they will want the same.Have a good day.

Interracial crime or not, they commit a disproportionate amount of crime considering they only make up a small % of the overall population. Those numbers will drop when society stops making excuses for their inexcusable behavior. It really needs to start with black women. They alone can put a stop to the number of black children being born out of wedlock. A child needs a father and a mother to help build support and structure and to teach that stealing and robbing are not exceptable.

The poor and ignorant commit the most crime. The blacks don't commit most crime in San Antonio, TX. It's the Hispanics. Blacks don't commit the most crime in Duluth, MN, it's whites. What do they all have in common? They are poor and doomed to poverty because of their lack of education. Educated, wealthy people commit crimes, too, but it's more unusual and scandalous.

Most blacks want handouts and steal or commit crimes for what aint free to them drugs and violence are a norm.im white quit high school went in the military and came out and made a life for myself and my family.worked for the phone company and went in so many black peoples homes or projects state subsidized housing and saw no one working usally some lady with many kids sucking off the state for everything yet they allways complain and blame whitey because a lot of them are to lazy to make there way in life and allways get the handout work the system and complain.you wonder why people are racist HELLO
