I'm a homemaker too and I'm writing an aritcle for our local paper. I'm just wondering what you feel your "job" entails. So far I have come up with these things (though this isn't all of it, I'm sure!)
Taking care of the kids (bathing, dressing, diapers, teaching and reading to, playing, doctors, etc)
Being a supportive wife
Meal planning, shopping, and Cooking
Keeping the house clean and neat
Finances (paying the bills, balancing checkbook, etc)

Don't forget volunteering at our childrens schools. I'm also in charge of the social calender. Planning, decorating, hosting & clean up of everybodies birthday party. (8 kids in our blended family!) I take several classes each year having to do with children. I'm cert in CPR & First Aid. I've got a 2 yr associate degree in Engineering. (worked out of the home for 12+ years) Now I'm opening my own child care in my home so I can earn money to help support all these kids! lol

We are to be the main caregivers for our kids and home BUT my husband helps me out alot and he does alot of the grocery shopping and cooking... I do dishes and vaccuum.... We do alot to getether so most of it is a combined effort... HE also works full time.... He pays the bills and things like that and i help with laundry too and i clean the counters and table and keep the kitchen clean... Goes both ways here which is the way it should be in the home. Much less confusion and fighting that way!
