Where there is a hi-tech building that can adapt itself to any threats and other changes. A person (hero of the movie) is appointed to work in a company in that building and he fiddles with the controls of the building. The building takes evasive moves assuming that someone is threatning the building and starts killing people. At the end the Hero successfully manages to get out of the building alive. The movie is supposedly a 80's flick.

It's definitely not Poltregeist nor The Shaft. It has to be something else.

Have to agree...if 80's movie would be "Poltergeist 3"; if if were in the last decade, sounds more like "The Shaft", starring Naomi Watts of "The Ring & The Ring 2" fame.

Movie: Poltergeist 3
Year: 1998
Plot: Carol Anne has been sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle in an effort to hide her from the clutches of the ghostly Reverend Kane, but he tracks her down and terrorises her in her relatives' appartment in a tall glass building. Will he finally achieve his target and capture Carol Anne again, or will Tangina be able, yet again, to thwart him?

Although it is not an 80's film.... the movie that comes to my mind is "Cube" released in '97
