mesh computers do sub £500 p.c,s including tft monitors and some are pretty good ,take a look at one..........http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=51980,this p.c has 1024mb ram,2.8ghz pentium D (dual core) processor,512mb nvidia geforce 7300gs pci-express graphics,250gb hard drive, sony dvd-rw drive, and last but not least ,windows vista home premium(includes 3d aero effects),you should then be able to pick up a tft monitor for less than £150,take a llok at http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=262197&CatId=911
i dont think you will get a better deal than this anywhere else and i have saved you £50
good luck

Yeah, afraid so. You wont get much for £500-00. Your monitor will be at least half of that. Your Graphics will be at least £100-00.
That leaves you with £150-00 which is just about the cost of your Operating Software.

look in your local yellow pages for local companies who build computer systems, you will likely get a better deal than with any of the major manufacturers, but if you want that 19" HD monitor add another £100 to your budget at least
