So there's this condo that's being constructed and they have 500 sq ft apartments which are well within my budget. Is it too small for 1 person? I mean I earn a decent living and want to live in a nice place, so will it be nice and stuff or will I feel poor and like a foolcock?

Many people live in and enjoy a studio apt. that range in size from 500 to 700 sq. ft.

It really depends upon what you want. It's pretty small but can be set up quite comfortably. People live in smaller places in big cities like NY or London.
Look at it before you decide.
