Normally here in Italy we get 6 weeks per year plus all the banking holidays.

Makes me want to relocate to Italy!

I live in America and generally, we are lucky to get ONE week vacation during the first 5 years of employment and "Bank" holidays are a thing of the past as now the majority are "working" holidays that you have to work but may get paid time off (PTO) at a future date.

Not sure of the private sector, but in gov. employment, generally a starting employee gets between 11 and 13 holiday (days) per year and 2 weeks vacation.

None.
I work only part time. And any days that the college is closed and I can not work I do not get paid for either.
It rather sucks.

US = 1 week for the first year of employment, two weeks for subsequent years.
Sad, but true.
BTW, isn't it "paid"?
