Okay so since I can remember there are certain ways that sex is painful or at least uncomfortable for me whether I am into it or not. I have been told by doctors that I have a tilted uterus. It seems that when I am flat on my back and my legs are down on the bed flat - it hurts and is uncomfortable. But if I lift my hips up a little I am fine. Also if I am on the edge of the bed (hips barely on the bed) and it is done that way - legs hanging down off the bed it also hurts. Ladies do you know why this is and what can be done. I hate being limited to certain positions because of this. And now I worry more during sex if it is going to hurt. Please help!!

unfortunately i have been told the same things. because some womens vaginas or uterus' are developed on a tilt or in a certain way, certain positions are more comfortable than others. They actually have a selection of books on this, iv taken a look as well. So you could always take a look, or just keep experimenting on what you like best :)

I would explain this to my gynecologist and see if you can get your tilted uterus fixed. If its the uterus that is causing it. Any kind of pain is a signal that something is wrong. You must find a way to talk to the gyn. you will be taken seriously. And for now just do what makes you feel comfortable and explain to your partner. Take him wit you to the gyn. he may be able to explain things further. Don't be afraid of the Dr. Take care Heather

Sounds like that's just the way your body is. I have a friend who has a tilted uterus, she was always more concerned with not being able to have kids. Have these doctors told you if there's anything you can do to correct the problem? If not, you'll just have to avoid positions that are painful for you.

Simply put a pillow or two under your lower back/buttocks to lift your pelvic. You can also try holding onto your knees or have your partner use his arms or shoulders to hold your knees closer to you. These will all raise your pelvic the the position where it no longer hurts.

Your problem is that when ever you are flat on your backand the legs or hips weigh down you feel the pain as the muscles are not relaxed. Sex is better when you are in relaxed state both physically & mentally. Get on top or use the doggy style where you can control the penetration .
