Actors and actresses seem to be a strange bunch. Always caught up in some cause or other. For some reason actresses don't want to be distinguished as women anymore. So they just stick with actor.

It's supposed to be political correct. Some feminist groups got together and decided there shouldn't be any divisions as far as actresses and actors and since they all "act" they should all be called actors. Which is crazy to me, next there will be no waitresses just waiters. This is also why stewardesses are called flight attendants...folks thought it was sexist.

Very Simple - It is Way easier to say! I don't have a prob with it and neither do they, it really is easier.
I think this question is a very good one though - a lot may disagree but I do think that it's very interesting.
Hey! I just thought of something! (i told u this was interesting.. it got me thinking...lol) By referring to everyone as actors, that way they won't have to wonder what to call "gay" actors/actresses!! how bout that!

i'm not sure as that would defeat the purpose of calling women actresses and men actors. if one word would sum them all up, why have two then? respect should be given to both.

The understudy for the placement takes over. each and every so often this ends up in a shift in the great forged. in the case the place the great call is ill, the understudy for the starring place might frequently play an greater minor place. So then the understudy for the minor place steps into the minor place. The understudy for the minor place might frequently be in the refrain. Then the refrain is one man or woman short, and somebody from the swing refrain gets to circulate on while they many times does no longer.

Misuse of the language--an unfortunately widespread and commonly occurring trend which shows no signs of slowing down.
