Why?.. Because they are not old enough to make that kind of call for themselves.. We would have children abusing this and calling them self "horror flick" .. I see what sort of cloths 12 year olds wear, and trust me, it is not a good choice, so no way should they be given a right to choose their name.. Why would any parent allow such a thing?..

it depends on what they want to change it to. it also depends on what you mean by "easily". if they are supervised by their parents, then why not. i changed mine when i was 4 when I fell in love with my new name and refused to answer to the older one, believe it or not!
