Humans are the only animals that have prominent breasts even when not feeding their babies, or when there has never been a pregnancy. It must be to do with attracting the opposite sex, to show that you would be good at feeding his offspring. (A narrow waist - shows you're not pregnant - wide hips & glossy hair are other subconscious indicators of health for procreating.)

The enormous udders on cows are not natural, they come from modern farming practice (economics - the price to the farmer in the UK has gone down from 24p in 1997 to 18p today, without inflation, so from 30p in real terms, so they push the cows harder to produce more milk). Dairy cows live short lives (4 years now the norm) and give birth at least once a year when mature. They produce around 30 litres of milk each every day, some more. No wonder their boobs sag.

You seem to be asking in all seriousness. If you want serious answers, try re-phrasing it and posting it in the Anthropology section.

I'm an average female (not fat by the way but not a stick insect either) but cursed with a size 36G cup for you men that's about Pam Anderson size after implants!
Yes they do tend to get in the way! But on the up side Ive never had any complaints.

Answering your question is quite simple women have breasts to feed their children and yes they can play a few roles in lovemaking.

Well George, you'll learn about this in 7th grade science.

Humans are in a group of animals called "mammals" - one big difference mammals have that other animals like insects do not have is mammary glands. They are structures on the female that provide nourishment for their young after their babies are born. Maybe you've seen a baby with a pacifier or its thumb in its mouth making a sucking action with its mouth - that's how little babies get milk from their mother's mammary glands. And that's the main function of mammary glands. Babies don't nurse or suckle milk from these mammary glands forever - just for a while.

In humans, mammary glands are viewed in some cultures as also being involved to some degree in sexual reproduction, but only as secondary stimulation -- you don't need to touch a female's mammary glands to reproduce. But many women and men enjoy doing that when they are having sex. And yes the shape in humans is more rounded, but breasts still vary quite a bit from woman to woman.

Does that help, George? Ask your science teacher or mother for more information. And hey good job on using the computer to get on here and ask an interesting question, little fella!

Women have breasts to sucle their children. Not all women have "ballons " as you said. This is a stupid question that only a complete ignoramuss would ask. Of course no animal has breasts like a woman.

Because women are built to carry and give birth to children, plus, during the very first few months of child development, the breasts are vital to feed the child all sorts of natural (but very weak variants of) anti-bodies in the child's defence as he/she gets older.

breasts are for feeding babies but, as with all things, they come in lots of different sizes (some like balloons, some like tennis balls). yes they do play a role in love making but their main use is for providing milk.

They contain the mammary glands that produce milk for babies.

A lot of animals the breasts are not so prominent.

It depends on how full of milk they are.
