With only 10 days to spend, I'd recommend starting the trip in London (Buckingham Palace, Westminster's Abbey, Tower of London, Windsor Castle...), then take the EuroStar train to Paris via the chunnel. Take in the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Versailles while in Paris. Then head down to the South of France by train (Nice, Monte Carlo) before crossing into Italy (Venice, Florence and Rome). You'll fly home out of Rome.
You'll be able to spend no more than 2 days in each city but you'll have a good feel for the major sights in Western Europe for your longer trips in the future. Remember to buy your EurailPass before leaving the US. It won't be good in Britain but will be for the rest of your trip on the Continent.

I recommend hiking the road to Santiago, from Paris to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. You can do fragments of it by train if time is an issue (with just 10 days, it might be) You'll find a lot dedicated to hiking this route on the internet. The whole way you should have no problem finding hostels and pensiones. Towns surrounding Santiago are full of charm and history. Santiago is a University town, and you will find cheap, good restaurants there too. You'll get to see Paris, which has tons of must see's itself, depending on your interests. The architechture on the Road to Santiago is particularly pleasing. It's a historic route which lots of people travel by foot from the middle ages continuing to today. Bon voyage and buen viaje!

Europe is very beautiful. But i like Slovenia the most. It has everything : the coast, mountains, lakes, valleys, woods, caves. It is a small country with very kind people. There isn't much criminal. People mostly don't have problems with English, and they would like to help you. Prices are not so high as they are in France and Spain. Slovenia is a member of EU and NATO, so u mustn't be afraid. U can have a great party there.. just ask youngsters on the street :). It is worth visiting.

Turkey is the third country tourists mostly visited in Europa. u can do lots of things that can be very interesting. u can visit historical places in istanbul[1], also see the Bosphorus[2], orr can go to Cappadocia[3], Pamukkale[4] or places that i cannot finish by writing here. wanna go to swimming in the middle of the winter? no problem; go to Antalya, wanna ski in summer? go to Uludag, in Bursa. And Turkish people are warm and famous with their hospitality. Turkish kitchen is one of the best kitchens in the world with its delicious meals and tastes. Furthermore, u can have a cheaper holiday in Turkey without any difference in quality, even better than in any other country in Europa! check the pages of that i give the links in the bottom and check these pages in detail for more. if u make a search, u will see what i wrote here... u can also send me a message, if u have any question..

Well,I live in Italy and visited many places all around Europe.I would recommend visiting Paris,Vienna,Budapest,Prague and of course Italy.Venice,Milan,Florence and Rome.
Obviously in 10 days I wouldn't suggest visiting all these ones but I would choose among them.
I lived in London and actually I'm not sure if it's something not to miss. It's nice but all the others are much better.
Have fun and maybe I'll see you around here!!!
