everything on the web has a list of - keywords and phrases and subject category's listed with the search engines ( and a lot of things that are not listed on purpose ) and info on the web is as accurate as the source

Everyweek Google sends billions of "Spybots" that crawl safely through every single link on the web to spot new / updated url's. These bots are programmes that are 100% safe.

When they find a new site / updated site they report to Google who add the site to their listings.

That is thie gist of it anyway - we could get more technical but it's too late for me.
