Dress nice. I love getting compliments. Get a friend or a crush in your class, it makes it more desirable to go

You lack motivation. Here is your motivation.

I am a 27 year old college drop out. I have 3 failed marriages, 4 kids I pay child support on, and because I have no higher education, I drive an off-road dump truck for $7.50 an hour.

I live in a 1 bedroom house, the defining characteristic of which is it seems to lean both ways. I have bad credit, no money, and I don't know where my next meal is coming from. Believe it or not, homeless people often eat better than I do.

Because I lack the education you are getting, and because I lack the financial resources to go back and get the rest of it, I am what one would call "trapped". See, because I chose to listen to conniving females, I now have 3 ex wives with kids I answer to. I pay a grand total of $340 a week on child support total, and I only make $500 a week. I live on $160 a week and after I pay for rent, gas, electricity, and water I might have SOME money to buy a little sandwich meat and a loaf of bread. Thats my life. I can't save anything and there are no other jobs here.

So the next time you don't wanna go to class, think of me.

You mentioned that this is happening during WINTER semester. Consider going to your student health service to discuss this problem. You might have SADD (Seasonal Affective Depressive Disorder), which is a treatable condition. Depression which only comes on during the winter months can be caused by a lack of sunlight, which affects your brain chemistry. Depression often leads to a lack of motivation / drive.

Pick up a new paper and read about all of the off shore out-sourcing going on. Employees getting laid off, etc.

Now consider this: College won't give you or even guarantee you job. However, it will give you a competitive edge when applying for something more than a "Task Worker."

Be part of the creative class - they cannot out-source that position.

you may have SAD http://www.sada.org.uk/

You get really down in the winter time. It's caused by not enough sun light. It can be reverse by a light box lamp or going to the tanning bed. My friend has this and had trouble with school in the winter time and let alone leaving her house

yes one hour isn't that bad and you feel good after. i never went to class for the first 3 years of college and it causes so many problems. i would get As on all tests but would fail because of attendance policies. then i finally started going and 4 years later i graduated!

You don't have to be excited to go. In motivation, what a lot of people don't know is that action comes before motivation. Do, then reflect. You'll be happy you went.

That's an easy one. Get excited about what you are going there for. Do not waste any time on things that do not capture your interest at this time in your life. later there will be plenty of time for the boring and mundane

yup- dropping classes and having to retake classes is the WORST. and it does suck to go to class when the weather stinks and its cold. try giving urself treats- if you go to class you can stop and grab a starbucks or a candybar or something.
trust me, you will be glad when you are done in 4 or 5 years and not 6 or 7 because you have to work part time and go to class part time because your parents refuse to pay tuition anymore.

think about working at dead end jobs for the rest of your life and see if that motivates you to get that higher education.

also remember -- college is great. enjoy it while you can before you get into the real world. make the most out of it and get all you can out of it. GET TO CLASS!!!!
