I've researched sites and most commonly find wonderful sites with photos of pet frogs and a little about the pet, though only a few sites seem to have any solid facts. There doesn't seem to be much on the web from scientists, either.

I've kept this species of frog for 8 years, and wondered what other people have observed in terms of how long the frogs tend to live in an aquarium environment.

I had this question once also and as I was reading over the net I came across a story about a woman who had hers for 25 years and the thing was still alive! She was saying how everytime she would go on vacation she'd expect it to die in the petsitters care but it never did. I've had my frog for about 2 years now. Who knows, maybe my kids will inherit her!

We received 2 from my kids school 7 years ago, one died 2 years ago as unfortunately it s foot got caught in the fish tank pump suction device and drowned. The other one is going strong, and they have lived with 2 gold fish we bought from a pet store which are very large now. They seem to all get along ok. I have fed the frogs primarily fish flakes, although for the first few years I gave them plenty of blood worms.

I think my kids teacher at school where we got the frogs from expected them to die after a few days, lol.

I bought 2 frogs in 2010. One just recently died so it s been six years so far. I really didn t expect them to live that long but so glad they did.
