It's quite annoying really. Yesterday I asked about alcohol's effects on a dog, and some wench automatically assumed that I gave alcohol to my dog.....Quite annoying, as I say....

Many people don't have very active imaginations or as we say don't get out much. I had seen a case of a dog getting drunk on a court TV show. a lot of people are just plain ignorant too. Ignore the vile comments its not like they mean anything to you or they pay your bills.

Well, we all know about situations of someone asking about an embarrassing problem for a 'friend' (*wink wink*). I went to school with someone who told all kinds of odd stories about things that 'friends' of his had done - which we later found out were largely true, but it wasn't his 'friends' who had been up to those shenanigans. (His friends had their own stories though, so there was that much more entertainment to be had.)

So, to answer your question - because that's usually the most logical assumption, unless the asker has specifically indicated otherwise. And even then, experience with human nature suggests it might not be 'someone else' involved.

Most people are ignorant to the fact that people may wonder about things that happen outside of their own personal life or world.
Usually it means the answerer is a selfish know it all who likes to assume the best of people.
