You can custom make your laptop with a lot of help aimed at inexperienced buyers

Almost any laptop you get will work for you if all you're doing is receiving MP3 files. But as far as internet. Just get anything with Windows XP on it. Preferablly with a network card and ample hard drive space. 20 Gig should do you nicely.

Get a Dell,
We got one for about 500 bucks and it works great,
but you just register with your online provider for the wireless service and get a wireless router.abou 65 dollars

thats it.

if it's just an mp3 file you can play it with any media player:

windows media player
itunes
winamp
musicmatch
etc...
