my lil bro has xbox 360 and his friend has a ps3. My lil bro recently hooked up his xbox live so that he can play with other people, and his friend goes online with his ps3. My question is can they play against each other, even though they have different systems? If so how can we set it up?

I'm going to have to say no. XBox live is strictly for Xbox users and they would never allow their top competitor (Sony) to access their customers and games.

I am not familiar with Sony's new online services, but I am sure that they would also not allow xbox customers access to their games as well.

The only potential would be a third party site sometime in the furture, but I doubt anyone would be willing to go toe to toe with Sony and Microsoft for licensing and all the other legal stuff involved. Sorry.

No unless sony and microsoft get an open platform game like Final Fantasy XI, that can be play on the PS2 and on the PC one with the other.
