I heard a radio show on this the other day. A woman recently divorced who I'm guessing had never worked while married chose this as her new career in order to support she & her child. A guy friend of mine told me his ex-wife is also doing this?

mcnatt, I would never scrape the bottom of the barrel by listening to howard stern but thanks for the advice. This is not a figment of his imagination when she cheated on him & has seen her pic on an excort service web site as one of their "models". Get a life dude!

I could see why women might decide to choose that option.
Its really stupid though.
Mainly because of the example it sets for the kids.
Its better to go to a shelter or church and beg I think.
Just knock on the neighbors doors and explain your situation.
SOme people would slam the door, others would help you.

That is probally a figment of his imagination. It takes a women a while to get her life back on track after a bad marriage.Especially with a child that most men divorce as well. There may be a few women who choose such a profession but most divorce's pick themselves up by the boot strings and go to school or do something productive in life .Something that they were being held back by the husband from doing. There are grants out there and even childcare within the colleges now to help women get the education in order to get a job. There are decent men out there that don't mind dating a women with a child so life is not over for a divorced women.I hope you can convience your friends wife not to throw her life away.Good Luck!!!Oh and stop listening to Howard Stern

I can't believe it's really that popular. I also can't believe that women on here are condoning prostitution just because a woman has come out of a failed marriage.
If I were to get divorced and my wife/ex-wife whatever became an "escort" I'd be glad I got divorced from her before she started such a career.
I'm glad I'm married to a woman that believes in monogamy and sexual integrity.
If you don't think "escort" really means prostitute, call up one of the services and arrange one for your husband.

I never heard this but it makes sense as to why, most of their married life they have done the same thing for a lot less pay with a single client. Now they have multiple clientele and get paid for sleeping with a guy. Actually an escort service is just an over paid whore with a legal pimp

Women, married and single, have been working for escort services for many years. What's taking people so long to catch on?

That's just wrong. When I got a divorce I went back to school and then got a job to support myself and my kids. I guess that makes me old-fashioned.

Sounds like a job that would not require you to develop any new skills and would be relatively easy to get into after a divorce.

That's news to me. Perhaps it's more of a trend in a particular area?
