Shango was a rock quartet in the late 1960s, led by Tommy Reynolds.

Shango's best-known recording was a 1969 song, a modest novelty hit called "Day After Day" off of their self-titled album Shango. It mocked contemporary doomsday predictions that California was destined to be destroyed (presumably very soon) by an earthquake. It was sung in a Reggae style:

Day after day
More people come to L.A.
Shh! Don't you tell them that
The whole placing is slippin' away

It was later adapted into a car ad:
Day after day
More people drive Chevrolet...
