why is it that when we are on our period we get the pains? can anyone help?

i live in england i dont think we can get avil over here can you tell me what the ingrediants are? they will be on the back of the box? thamx for the tip xx

I know your body makes more fluidy stuff when you're on a period, causing your tummy to hurt. Forgot the name of the fluid. Put a hot water bottle on your tender tummy, plenty of hot drinks will also ease the tummy cramps. Ginger will also help. Because your sleep maybe disturbed too, make sure you ain't too hot at night & put a little sleep spray or lavender oil on your pillow before you go to sleep. xxx

I have had extremely heavy and painful periods since I have been getting them. I required Ponstan (Mefanamic Acid) for the bleeding as I got anaemic because of it but it is very good for the pain also. You will have to get a prescription for it though

I believe the cramps(if that is what you mean) is our uterus pushing out the blood and other yucky stuff, try liqid Advil, I get killer cramps and these really help, also try a heating pad or hot water bottle on your belly or back whatever hurts.

Advil and Motrin are brand names for ibuprofen. I am almost positive you can get it in the UK without a prescription. If ibuprofen doesn't work you should see you doctor.

Ibuprofen works best for me. I had severe cramping for years and when I discovered it I thought it was a miracle pill.

a week before you are due eat lots a celery it will bet rid of the extra water that we build up which is what causes the pain ,,,

It's partly because of uterus contractions but also the flow of blood and clots through the cervix. it's also partly becuase God was having a laugh...........!

i take ibuprofen, it works wonders-seriously. i took paracetemol last month and it didnt work nearly as well as ibuprofen does. good luck, xx
