It`s good you want to eat good but almost everything has sugar in it.A bowl of cheerios would put my sugar level at 260.Oj is high in sugar. They use Oj to give to someone when their sugar is way too low.Oj will run your sugar right up there. No potatos, noodles, pasta of any kind.No chips, breads etc..................It`s hard to keep your sugar levels down while you are pregnant because alot of foods they reconnmend you eat while pregnant the diabetic diet will take it from you.

If you have gestational diabetes, your OB should send you for diabetes education to learn how to manage your gd with diet. I had it and although it was a bit of an inconvenience, I was able to control it with diet. The dietitian gave me a book and examples of a diet. I had to check my blood sugar with a glucose monitor every morning before anything to eat or drink and then an hour after every meal. The dietitian will tell you what blood levels are okay. I had to record all my levels for my OB to review.

It's been 2 years, so I can't remember an example of a daily diet. However, I do remember that just a 1/2 cup of orange juice was 1 serving of carbs. I believe I was allowed 2 servings of carbs for breakfast, but if I had that 1/2 cup of OJ, it sent my blood sugar levels soaring. The only thing I could eat for breakfast that kept my blood within normal range was low carb yogurt.

Best of luck to you.

there should be a diet somewhere for a woman with gestational diabetes to follow. Ask your doctor.
