This unoriginal idiot appeals to the lowest common denominator of society. He's not even doing anything different that people 2-5 years before him have done. He is a part of the new wave of geek humor, such as MTV's boiling point or Jackass or punked or any other show that sends a guy out in public to try to make fun of people by being rude to them.

Sign of the times and we wonder why our kids are so dumb today.

It's no different than a white guy telling white jokes or a black guy telling black jokes. Borat is a european who also happens to be jewish as well. And if you saw the movie, he makes plenty of fun of americans too. And it was funny!

I think the point of Borat is to point out the discrepancies in society. He exposed people and put it out for the public to see in his movie. The movie really shows that prejudices still exist no matter how far we think society has progressed, i.e. frat boys wishing white people could have slaves.

Its funny because its not true. it may be racist, but hes just using peoples ignorance of other cultures to seem racist, sexist, whatever but its not what he believes so its funny. I know the frat guys from university of south carolina in there and they are embarrassed because everyone sees how racist they really are. and thats sad that they believe that way

he is trying to tell us something about our society , nothing more!
flaws, racism , arrogance , rocking the boat so to speak! when we make movies and make other countries look bad isn't that the same? and by the way the guy is English and has roots in micro Asia thought I wanted to make sure to mention that!

I think it's because he acts stupid and lots of people on this planet like stupid humour. More proof if this is Jim Carys older movies in the 90's. Many people (not me) found him hiraous when he acted like a perverted idiot.
