I think the fans needed to pick :
1 PG
1 SG
1 SF
1 PF
1 C

All from each conference so we don't see SG playing as PG or PF playing as SF in the all star game.
What do you think ?

While I suppose this might be a concern, I don't see it as a huge one. It isn't like the all-star game is a fundamentals clinic in any case, and coaches choose the rest of the team. If you really did end up with a team with two shooting guards who couldn't handle the ball at all, they'd start, play a few minutes, then a real PG would get subbed in. SF vs. PF is even less of a concern, as those roles increasingly blur in the NBA today.

Now what IS really unfortunate is that the fans are completely nonsensical in who they vote for. Shaq has been voted as a starter yet again, when he's only played like 6 games all year. The teams are small enough that when the fans vote in 1 or 2 guys per team that don't belong in the game, it pretty much guarantees that deserving candidates will be left at home.

because the all movie star weekend is all about the followers, i imagine they ought to nonetheless vote the starters in, yet, with some obstacles. Like there should be a catalogue of applicants deserving to be an all movie star no longer merely any participant. Stern gave indicators that there does no longer be any adjustments although. I merely wish McGrady does what his cousin did decrease back contained in the 2003 all movie star sport. Vince Carter relinquished his starting up spot to make way for Michael Jordan's very last visual attraction in an all movie star sport. A organic type act from Vinsanity.

I think it's dumb to have fans voting on the all-star game period. Why in the world are KG and McGrady starting in the all-star game instead of the two leaders for MVP-Nash and Nowitzki? And why did Shaq even get votes, the guy hasn't hardly played at all this season. Fans vote name recognition not who is having the best season. This year proved that more than anything else. I think they should let former players and coaches decide who is going to be in the game, maybe then it would be based on merit and not a popularity contest.

Who really cares? It's not like they play REAL basketball in this game. It's just an exhibition and no one plays real defense. They get down the court and jack it up. A more exciting game would probably be all SGs and SFs. Those guys just gettin up and down and tossing up like 300 shots for the game.

I don't even watch the NBA all-star game anymore. It is a disgrace to the game how walking violations are not called and many so-called professionals can't even make 7 out of 10 foul shots.
