Sure, it's feels good, when you can look at yourself and feel somewhat content, but isn't whats on the inside more important? I think too much emphisis is put on all the young girls and young men these days, that they have to be something perfect on the outside.. Well, not just the young, but everyone in general. Im not a poster girl, but then Im not air-brushed either!

It's because it is the first thing we see. It takes time and effort to notice someone inner beauty. People nowadays are shallow and only care about peoples "outers." Those are the people I don't allow in my circle of friends. I know I am good looking, the important thing I look for are the people who get over that, and want to get to know me as a PERSON.

It's true we'd all look perfect if we had personal makeup artists to follow us around 24/7 like most celebs do.But we don't,and those are the people whose faces are plastered all over everything. So from a young age we come to view that as beauty and often it's hard to learn anything different.

My theory is that when the hormones are at super high levels, the brain goes on vacation and the only thing that counts is immediate mating . . .
Which is totally based on appearance .
They are NOT seeking a long term relationship, just something to get them through the night or weekend.
The one night stand is wayyyyy too common now, as far as I am concerned . . . but that is what they want.

People who actually want real friends and family live life based on the heart , personality and character of others.

I think we have allowed Hollywood to dictate who and what is considered acceptable. Everything is given a score--your looks, your hygiene, etc. Americans have become so commercialized and go for the "quick view"--if you look good everyone notices. It seems to be too much trouble to find out what truly lies beneath, and besides everyone wants to be or be seen with someone who is considered beautiful.

Because they're trying to fill up a void on the inside, and they think that they can do it by feeling good about themselves on the outside.

I think pple worry so much about their outer appearance bc this is the first thing others see. People base their opinions and sterotypes on outer appearance before they try to get to know you.

I think it is because people are afraid to show who they really are, so they feel like they need to blend in with the crowd in order to be accepted.
