Make sure you have a friend that is a cop. After the murder, have him arrest you and "forget" to read you your Miranda rights. They'll drop the case on that technicality and you can continue to kill whomever you want.

This is why it's called the "court system" and not the "justice system". It has nothing to do with justice or protecting society anymore, now it's all about protecting the criminals' rights.

I'm not convinced you could truly avoid getting caught but I guess you could have a good go... I think killing someone that had absolutely no connection to you would be the first thing, but I guess that would make you a proper psycho. Dumping the body at sea works well, as long as you don't get seen moving the body and don't leave any trace of them or you on the boat. Destroy all clothing you wore, have no links to the place you dumped the body. Maybe that would work...

There are a number of defences to that of murder. Murder is defined, in the language of old, the killing of a reasonable creature in being, with maliceaforethought, under the Queen's Peace. The intent to commit murder is considered an intent to kill or an intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

If they are unable to find intent, you are not guilty of murder, although you could still be found guilty of manslaughter.

Defences to murder are, self-defence, provocation, insanity, diminished responsibility etc etc. If you are able to prove any of these things, then you will be found not guilty of murder, however, you may well be found guilty of manslaughter.

In cases of self-defence, it is possible to receive an absolute discharge from the Court should you be able to plead it successfully.

Pleading Insanity is a possible defence, however, if you plead it successfully, then the Judge has significantly wide powers in which to place you in secure accomodation until they no longer deem you to be a threat to society and that could mean life in a mental institution, life meaning life!
