I honestly need more than the average person; about 10 is my best. Otherwise I'm an absolute zombie at work the next day. So I'm of the opinion that it's different for each person.

This is quite a sticky point with me because I have a hard time making friends understand why I must go home and get to bed so early when they have hours yet. They say "8" and I say "you're crazy! That's not near enough. I'll die!" It's the truth. I need more sleep. So don't live by others general standards; figure out what your own are. Otherwise you will make life very hard for yourself by trying to operate sleep-deprived.

Well, it all depends on how long you want to live? There is a correlation between your hrs of sleep and life expectancy. If you don't want to live long, then sleep less than 8 hours, but if you do want to live long sleep equal to or more than 8 hours!
