Working isn't necessarily a liberal problem. More and more jobs are being sent to other parts of the world, the ones that are left are being taken by illegal immigrants. With 300,000,000 people living in the United States right now, there aren't enough jobs for every able person.
When you were of working age there was probably an abundance of jobs. Back then there probably weren't 12 million illegal immigrants here to take what few jobs there are. Companies don't have to pay a price for hiring illegals. So it goes on and on. Fewer and fewer jobs available on the homefront cannot support the growing demand for Social Security benefits.
Personally, I have worked hard, and SS payments were deducted from my pay all my life. As I get closer to retirement age, the age requirement has gone up to 67. By the time I retire there won't be funds AT ALL for me. And at the beginning of the year your check was increased. So I wouldn't whine.
