Landlords have a legal responsibility to maintain the house in the condition it was in when you signed the lease for the full term of the lease. Yes, you can sue them, but it may be more expensive than what you get from it.

I do not know if you can sue but I did have a similar situation happen to me. First your landlord is responsible for all the repairs done to fix the pipes problem. I would suggest that you write a letter stating that the rent will be put into an escrow account on the first of every month(assuming that's when the rent is due) until all repairs have been made and the house is back to the original condition. This is the action I took while I don't know if it was the only way to go about it I know it worked, it is amazing how fast things get done when landlords are not getting their rent. Still I would talk to an attorney and see what other course of action you may take.

What does your hire settlement say? In some jurisdictions, warmth and water could be blanketed with the hire (like the place I stay) yet in different places, those utilities are paid for one after the other. if your hire says your landlord might desire to grant warmth, then you quite've a case. you will might desire to touch your close by ministry of housing (or landlord & tenants), or city hall for help. they might desire to have the flexibility to rigidity your landlord into offering warmth (they're going to deliver an inspector out) and he must be fined. enable them to lead you. by using the way, in case you advised me what city/usa you lived in, i could attempt and come across the government physique to blame.

:)Of course you can and he should pay you back the money of the hotel since you had no more option than going there because of him!
