Why do people expect you to tell them when they ovulate or when they should have sex for pregnancy or to not get pregnant?

How are we to know? I mean there are more factors that can affect this and NOT EVERY WOMAN IS THE SAME.

I just don't get it.

Are they wanting opinions or for us to just tell them?

I have often questioned this too. I seriously think that if they are so stupid to ask questions like that or the ever common, "Am I pregnant? I didn't take a HPT but I just feel it!" that they should really wait to bring children into this world until they get a bit more of an education. Stuff like that should be common sense! I understand wishful thinking but damn it really makes them seem stupid!

There are alot of people who want to have children, but are having a hard time doing this. Yes, you are correct about one thing everyone is different, but those who have a hard time getting pregnant can usually only do this during ovulation. Now for those who ask, because they don't want to get pregnant, do need to know, that it is possible to get pregnant even if you are not ovulating. Those who ask because they don't want to get pregnant doesn't understand the actual reason for ovulating or has been mis informed about sex and pregnancy.

I have no idea why they expect us to know. Every woman IS different that's why only THEY should know when they ovulate. http://www.mymonthlycycles.com will help them a lot. There are lots of other online calendars like http://www.fertilityfriend.com too that can help. If your having sex, or plan on having sex, you should be tracking... this will keep you safe and allert you when there might be a problem. It's our own responsibilities as women to care for our bodies. Nobody can expect a group of strangers to know better then they would. Heck, even a doc wouldn't have a clue if you haven't been charting.

I don't know what they want from us actually... I think even some women who do chart are in a state of disbelief and just want reasurance one way or another.

I thought that people bought ovulation predictor tests for that reason. That being said, though, I kind of wonder if it sort of takes the fun and spontaneity out of sex.

They don't understand ovulation. They don't understand their bodies because they are not in tune with them. Just show them a web site to go to so that they read up on it.
